Narrative Description of the Project:
Under the "Strengthening the Religious and Socio-Economic Capacity of Purohit and Sehabit" project, IPTM had the opportunity to contribute to the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust. IPTM involved encompassed the development of a comprehensive training module and manual for Sebayet and Purohit, along with the training of local facilitators. Under this assignment, a total of 60 participants received training as local facilitators during April to June 2016.
In the realm of religious and socio-economic contexts, the project focused on elevating the competencies and leadership skills of Hindu religious Purohits and Sehabits. This was achieved through comprehensive training covering various aspects such as Hindu Law, worship methodologies, Land Law, ICT and the Digital Bangladesh initiative, Social Values, Agriculture, Forestry, and Livestock Management.
The goal was extended beyond merely enhancing religious expertise and foster a deeper understanding and awareness among these leaders. This included initiatives to combat issues such as drug abuse, corruption, and terrorism. Furthermore, to nurture a spirit of inter-religious harmony by instilling moral principles and promoting religious and human values within the broader society through the guidance of Purohit and Sehabit.
