Narrative Description of the Project:
This assignment was undertaken by Technical Assistance on Integrated Solid Waste Management Improvement Project, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Ministry of Local Government & Rural Development funded by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). This project aims to improve solid waste management services in selected municipalities in Bangladesh. 30 staffs from Bhola,Faridpur,Kishoreganj,Sirajganj & Phulpur Pourashava received training under this assignment during March at LGED HQ, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The main objective of the assignment was to raise awareness about SWM Rules 2021 and Medical Waste Management Rules 2008; strengthen the Conservancy section of the pourashava; improve the cost-effectiveness of urban waste service by optimizing waste collection and transportation; improve the operation of environmental protection and effective use of existing and future disposal sites for Pourashava Staffs.
