Narrative Description of the Project:
The main objectives of this project is Firstly, to comprehensively analyze the unique challenges posed by the high salinity levels in these regions (Vietnam & Thailand) and identify innovative construction techniques that can withstand the corrosive effects of saline environments. Secondly, to investigate the suitability and performance of specific construction materials, such as corrosion-resistant alloys and reinforced concrete mixes, in order to optimize durability and longevity of infrastructure projects within these saline zones. Through these objectives, these assignments aim to ensure the resilience and sustainability of construction projects in these challenging coastal areas, fostering economic development and improving the quality of life for local communities. To achieve this goal, IPTM organized Study-tour cum Training program on ‘Construction Techniques and Construction Materials used in Saline Zone’ in Vietnam and Thailand under Extension of Upazilla Complex Project-2nd Phase (EUCP-2), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives from January-March 2019. Under this assignment, a total of 10 participants received training.
