Narrative Description of the Project:
Caritas Bangladesh and Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh, with the support of Caritas Switzerland (CaCH), have been jointly implementing the project titled “Empowering the vulnerable in six urban slums by building resilience to everyday and disaster risks (Urban DRR Project: P_160047)” to increase the resilience of dwellers in six urban slums in Dhaka and Khulna in the face of disasters, climate change and socio-economic vulnerability.
Staff capacity building training is part of Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh – HFHB’s, Empowering the Vulnerable in four urban slums by Building Resilience to Every Day and Disaster Risks project, an assignment which was conducted by IPTM in 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The main objective of this training is to develop the knowledge and skills of the Urban DRR project staff on urban development issues for efficient and effective implementation of the project activities.
Key Activities:
- Inception meeting with the relevant officials and submitted inception report.
- Reviewed the relevant documents.
- Developed and finalized training contents, PowerPoint presentation, and hands-outs for the training.
- Facilitated the training program in Bangla an interactive approach applying participatory methods of training.
- Arranged the training venue and accommodation for the training.
