Study Tour Program on ‘Occupational Safety and Occupational Health (OSH)’ in Denmark under Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE)

Narrative Description of the Project:

The Government of Bangladesh is striving to establish decent workplaces in Bangladesh through implementation of the safety and health-related provisions of the Bangladesh Labour Law, 2006 and Bangladesh Labour Rules, 2015. The main objective of the assignment was to organize and implement a study tour program on ‘Occupational Safety and Occupational Health in Denmark for DIFE. Through this study tour, DIFE with assistance from IPTM was committed to learn the best practices of Denmark’s occupational safety and health practices and apply it in the context of Bangladesh which would help the Ministry of Labour of Employment as well as other related national authorities and bodies to mitigate the gaps in establishing a safe working environment in Bangladesh. IPTM organized this study tour program from November 2015 to January 2016. Under this assignment a total of 10 officials attended this program.

  • Assistance for Passport renewal or issue, visa processing and Air-ticket
  • Health and travel insurance assistance
  • Pre-departure formalities 
  • Airport Coordination and accommodation arrangement
  • Arranged Welfare guide & translator and land surface transport in Denmark
  • Arranged refreshment, working lunch with welcome and closing dinner
  • Orientation to the course / program in Denmark
  • Arrangement of expert-led lecture session in Denmark
  • Arrangement of the appointments, meetings, and field visit with relevant officials
  • Sightseeing and cultural tours
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the program
  • Program report development and delivery
