Narrative Description of the Project:
The Modernization of DIFE and Establishment of Nine District office Project under Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment is striving to establish decent workplaces in Bangladesh through implementation of the safety and health-related provisions of the Bangladesh Labour Law, 2006 and Bangladesh Labour Rules, 2015. The main objective of the assignment was to organize and implement a training program on ‘Inspection Techniques of Factories & Establishments on Occupational Safety and Occupational Health’ in Thailand (Bangkok and outskirts) for DIFE officials. Through this training, DIFE with assistance from IPTM was committed to increase capacity building on the best practices of Denmark’s Inspection Techniques of Factories & Establishments on Occupational Safety and Occupational Health practices and apply it in the context of Bangladesh which would help the Ministry of Labour of Employment as well as other related national authorities and bodies to mitigate the gaps in establishing a safe working environment in Bangladesh. IPTM organized this training program on ‘Inspection Techniques of Factories & Establishments on Occupational Safety and Occupational Health’ in Bangkok & Chiang Mai of Thailand from April to June 2016. Under this assignment a total of 10 officials from DIFE and Ministry of Labor & Employment.
