Overseas Study Tour on “Prisons/Jail Correctional Center” in Australia for the Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj Construction Project, under the Department of Prisons, Ministry of Home Affairs

Narrative Description of the Project:

IPTM, executed an overseas Study Tour focused on "Prisons/Jail Correctional Centers" in Australia. This transformative initiative was organized exclusively for the Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj Construction Project, under the esteemed Department of Prisons, which operates under the purview of the Ministry of Home Affairs. With an unwavering commitment to enhancing correctional practices, a select group of seven participants had the invaluable opportunity to participate in this immersive study tour experience. This venture symbolized the dedication of the Department of Prisons to refining its strategies and aligning with international best practices in penitentiary management. Through this initiative, participants acquired a comprehensive understanding of innovative approaches to prison reform, contributing significantly to the broader mission of ensuring safer and more rehabilitative correctional facilities within Bangladesh. The duration of this assignment was from October to December 2019.

  • Design, development, and delivery of the briefing session 
  • Collection of Government Order (G.O.) and Note Verbal
  • Identification of program objectives
  • Assistance for Passport renewal or issue, visa processing and air ticket
  • Health and travel insurance assistance
  • Pre-departure formalities 
  • Airport Coordination and accommodation arrangement
  • Arranged Welfare guide & translator and land surface transport
  • Arranged refreshments, working lunch with welcome and closing dinner 
  • Orientation to the course/program
  • Arrangement of expert-led training session
  • Arrangement of appointments, meetings, and field visits with relevant officials 
  • Sightseeing and cultural tours
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the program
