Narrative Description of the Project:
The Third Urban Governance & Infrastructure Improvement (Sector) Project (UGIIP-III) under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives funded by public and co-funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The primary objectives of the project are to promote sustainable human development, economic growth, and poverty reduction. Works are included the improvement and rehabilitation of key infrastructure such as roads and bridges, drainage works, water supply and sanitation systems, and marketplaces in 30 selected urban areas.
In this context, IPTM organized an exposure visit program titled ‘Drainage Network & Maintenance Program’ for 10 government officials from November 2017 to January 2018. The main objective of this assignment was to share knowledge and expose knowledge on drainage network systems, the latest developments in urban sanitation management and maintenance processes or systems, and also was visited the relevant project areas and experience shared knowledge in the context of Thailand and Philippines.
