Overseas Training Program on 'Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation' in Indonesia under Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation Division (IMED)

Narrative Description of the Project

The Strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation Capacities of IMED, (SMECI) (3rd Revise) Project, undertaken by the Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation Division (IMED), Ministry of Planning, As part of this project, IPTM organized two comprehensive overseas training programs titled ‘Project Management’ and ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’ in Jakarta, Indonesia, for 22 government officials in 02 batch aimed to enhancing the project staff's capacity, improving efficiency and understanding of project management, and monitoring and evaluation practices. The program, which was organized from March 2020 to March 2022 (extended due to COVID-19), focused on capacity building in project management processes, regulatory compliance, planning, monitoring, coordination, approving systems of project management and M&E system management, framework development, work planning, cost analysis, communication, advocacy, and cultural considerations, along with routine program monitoring and evaluation procedures within the Indonesian context. The knowledge and skills acquired during this program were subsequently integrated into Bangladesh's own project management, monitoring, and evaluation systems under the project.
