Knowledge Sharing Program in Sri Lanka under Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA)

Narrative Description of the Project:

The Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA), under the Ministry of Food, is entrusted with the mission of safeguarding consumers' lives and health through the monitoring of food safety across the supply chain and the coordination of various official food control agencies. This coordination aims to ensure effective and uniform enforcement of food regulations. In pursuit of this mission, IPTM organized a knowledge-sharing program in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in March 2020, involving seven government officials. The primary objective of this initiative was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan government officials, focusing on food safety processing systems, regulatory challenges, public awareness, and education within the context of both countries.

 

Key Activities:

  • Design, development, and delivery of the briefing session 
  • Collection of Government Order (G.O.) and Note Verbal
  • Identification of program objectives
  • Assistance for Passport renewal or issue, visa processing and air ticket
  • Health and travel insurance assistance
  • Pre-departure formalities 
  • Airport Coordination and accommodation arrangement
  • Arranged Welfare guide & translator and land surface transport
  • Arranged refreshments, working lunch with welcome and closing dinner 
  • Orientation to the course/program
  • Arrangement of appointments, meetings, and field visits with relevant officials 
  • Sightseeing and cultural tours
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the program
  • Program report development and submission at the project
