Training Program titled ‘Mussel Breeding, Disease & Pearl Processing’ in Japan under Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI)

Narrative Description of the Project: 

Development and Dissemination of Pearl Culture Technology Project, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI), Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock wanted to introduce and extension of Pearl cultivation in Bangladesh. Cultivation of pearl was a new thought in Bangladesh. Development and Dissemination of Pearl Culture Technology Project had token by BFRI for the introduction and extension of pearl culture and cultivation in Bangladesh. This project wanted to take experience related to Pearl Culture and cultivation Technology from any developed country. Then Japan was fully experienced with latest technology in this field. For this the project selected Japan for taking training on ‘Mussel Breeding, Disease & Pearl Processing’. They also wanted to gather experience from the relevant government officials of Japan about how they managing this field and what steps & policies they taken.  The main objective of this assignment was to introduce and extension of Pearl cultivation in Bangladesh so that, the pearl cultivator and as well as the country can be benefited economically. For achieving the objectives, IPTM organized and implemented this training program in Japan. A total of 03 (three) participants attended this program from March- May 2018.

  • Identification of program objectives
  • Assistance for Passport renewal or issue, visa processing and Air-ticket
  • Health and travel insurance assistance
  • Pre-departure formalities 
  • Airport Coordination and accommodation arrangement
  • Arranged Welfare guide & translator and land surface transport in Japan.
  • Arranged refreshment, working lunch with welcome and closing dinner.
  • Orientation to the course / program in Japan
  • Arrangement of classroom-based training session in Tokyo, Japan 
  • Arrangement of the appointments, meetings, and field visit with relevant officials
  • Sightseeing and cultural tours
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the program and Program report development and delivery
